About this project

Our scheme for the proposed extension and refurbishment of Leicester Squash Club was based on the concept of a squash racquet, and using the shape to form the basis of the extension footprint. The new entrance followed the racquet curve to create a ground floor lobby which contains the relocated staircase and a lift. Changing rooms and WCs are rearranged on the ground floor, with the addition of a gym and a separate massage room. Upstairs the existing bar gains a dedicated storeroom. The extension creates a new court and improved spectator seating, including a viewing area for wheelchair uses. A conference room allows for meetings or hospitality for special events and can be partitioned from the bar area, with unique views of Court 1.
