St James Street

Status: Planning approved

Planning permission was granted to turn a vacant Grade II listed building into a lively centre with a wide range of amenities including a restaurant, ladies’ gym, salon, café, grocery store, offices, topped with a lavish roof garden and shisha bar. The building has remained vacant for some years and suffered from a lack of regular maintenance. After working with planning authorities and various consultants, we gained approval for two planning applications. The redevelopment aims to revitalise the building while adapting it to the contemporary needs of the community. Strategically positioned in the heart of the city, just outside the central shopping centres, the site boasts exceptional accessibility. With its proximity to tranport links the location ensures sustainability and convenience for residents and visitors. Recognising the historical significance of the structure, we carried out extensive research to understand the cultural importance and restorative techniques to renovate the building sensitively. Leicester can look forward to a new multipurpose development to help regenerate the area.
